C4C supports Boulder County’s proposed alignment for the BERT, see the below link.
A surprise, the county is proposing an underpass at US 287. C4C was prepared to concede to a detour and at-grade crossing due to cost considerations. However, an underpass complies with Boulder County’s emerging best practices for separation.
In a technical nutshell, this is incremental execution of the multi-modal elements of Boulder County’s Transportation Master Plan and that’s what C4C supports fundamentally. Safety, utility, and efficacy–it’s a great plan. Let’s build it.
BNSF agreed to allow the use of its right-of-way for the soft surface trail. One of the best reasons to support it is to let Boulder County build this and then move to the Saint Vrain Greenway which is its next soft-surface trail project.
