CU students Vito Lechesse, Nick Pellegrini, and 9 of their Pi Kappa Phi fraternity brothers are in the final stages of planning their cross country Journey of Hope, organized by the Pi Kappa Pi charity organization, The Ability Experience, to raise money and awareness for children with mental and physical disabilities.
Pictured left to right in the picture above are Carl Mesker, Nick Pellegrini, Charlie Kellogg, Eric Lau, Trenton Lee, Adam Samazin, Vito Leccese, Chris Downs, Andrew Thorson, Griffin Tietz, and Mike Krohn.
The CU crew is part of a group of 90 to 100 other cyclists from around the US who are participating in three coast to coast rides that start in Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles in early June, and finish up together on August 13th in Washington, DC.
Each of the CU student-riders is expected to raise $5,500 or more for the cause. Along the way, after getting their miles in, each student will be spending time, hands-on, interacting with some of the children who benefit from the A Ability Experience foundation.
