This ride offers numerous variations to make it shorter, longer, more paved road, more dirt road, more trail, and everything in between. It’s apex is a snack or meal stop at Babette‘s at the southeast corner of Longmont on the edge of the Prospect Neighborhood. Babette’s has gotta be one of the best bakeries in the state.
This route covers a lot of classic Boulder County gravel and road riding. Enjoy!
Everybody loves this ride and its variations except for S.F. and S.M. who did not like all the twists and turns because they are serious cyclists and serious about going on serious rides 😉.
- Depart North Boulder to the Cobalt Trail which is doable on a gravel bike.
- Connect to The Lefthand Trail at Longhorn Road which takes you to the intersection of Neva Road and 39th (dirt).
- Proceed mostly on dirt on the Boulder Roubaix course as desired.
- Get to 65th and/or 63rd as you please and turn east on Prospect Road and then turn into the Lagerman Open Sky Trail Loop.
- Take the Open Sky Loop at Lagerman in either direction to 75th then to Plateau and work over to Oxford to cross Highway 119 The Diagonal. Use caution crossing the highway.
- Take the LoBo Trail to Ogallala to 95th to Plateau Road and head towards the corner of Neon Forest Circle and Ionosphere Street (yes, those are actual names).
- For the return, work back to The LoBo Trail for a more direct but very low stress (not much auto traffic) route back.
Bon appétit!
