Boulder County’s “One Pager” explaining the North Foothills Safety for All Project
Thanks to Boulder County Commissioners approving The North Foothills Safety for All Project for preliminary design funding, Boulder County staff is now seeking funds to construct the project including the separated bikeway. One grant opportunity being considered is the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Program.
This program requires a minimum local match of 20% of the total grant award. If the county were to request the maximum amount available through this program, approximately $5 million in local matching funds would be required. This local match could be made up of funds from governmental agencies and community donations.
C4C’s fundraising efforts in general, and at its upcoming Crank It Forward Gala, are now focused on helping to raise as much funding as possible to complement local government funds for possible future grant opportunities. With $30,000 budgeted now, C4C is already off to a start.
