Boulder, Colorado. September 17, 2016 – Cyclists 4 Community, the organization of cyclists that rallied around floor relief to the tune of $200,000 for Lyons and Jamestown, held its second annual Bike & Brew Festival on Saturday at Valmont Bike Park.
The event featured cyclocross racing all day, a kids Strider course, mountain bike demos, cyclocross clinics, delicious food from leading local vendors, and beer from 16 local craft brewers.
The organizers estimate that close to 2,000 people attended the cyclocross, expo, and beer garden, throughout the day.
Entertainment was provided by talented kids from the Boulder and Broomfield School of Rock, Acoustic Ambush, and Eighty’s throwback band The Goonies.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of a donation check to the Cold Springs Fire Support fund to help families that were affected by the July fire in Nederland. C4C board members Russ Chandler, Rob Andrew, and Rick Wiener presented a $1,000 check to Christine Deignan and Julie Gustafson from the Peak to Peak Healthy Communities Project, the non-profit organization administering the fund.
“We had a lot of competition this weekend in Boulder, so we’re very pleased at the turn out we got, which were about double last year” said Event Director and C4C board member Jens Husted. “We are really appreciative of the 50 or so volunteers who came together and made this happen.
